It was cold but we could feel warm of Korean people

It was very cold with snow.
But there is nothing to stop us ;)

70% of Korea is mountainous region.
We had to ride bicycle on mountain road.
Although I had a big muscle pain, I didn't give up riding a bicycle.
(Whenever I met uphill road, I shut my teeth hard.)

We went to a small restaurant.
We ordered two freshwater fish soup I've never seen.
I think that it is local food.
Anyway, it was delicious and we demolished them in no time.

We can't ride bicycle on expressway.
We rode our bicycle on route.
Somewhere on route we took a picture and a break.

We arrived in a city called Gimcheon.
I know a person who live in the city.
Unfortunately, I didn't have his cellphone number.

My friend told me he reached a speed of 73.7Km/h
It was amazing. I also tried to reach a speed of 70Km/h
but I couldn't my recode is 68Km/h.

It was getting dark. We had to find a place where we can set up two tents.
We went to to a town. There were some houses.
We headed to a house that have a big front yard.
and... We asked a old lady, "Can we set up a tents in your front yard?"
"It's too cold to sleep outside. We have one guest room, so why don't you
sleep there?" She said.
"Yahoo!! Thank you very much we are really appreciate!"

After a while, she gave us dinner.
We ate dinner in no time because we were very hungry.
Since we ride bicycles, we are hungry every time. even just after having a meal.

We had a lot of laundry.
Unfortunately, both of us didn't want to wash them.
We agreed to play rock-paper-scissors.
Loser should washing them.
As you can see in the video.
I lost the game and.. I spent one hour with laundry.

The following morning dawned bright.
I didn't want to wake up because it was cold.
However, we had to leave there
because we didn't want to bother them.

When we stepped out, there were about to go to somewhere.
We said, "Thank you very much."
and took some pictures.

That day, the weather was so nice.
It was warmer then other days.

During riding bicycle, there was my favorite phrase.
"Climbing Land End" haha
Still my leg muscle is too weak to ride on uphill.

We visited Chung-Do city that famed for its flat persimmon

We were close to reaching our destination.

Finally, we reached Busan city that is second capital city in Korea.
During this trip, there were a lot of crucial moments.
But we didn't gave up.

Distance : 505 Km
Period : 7 Days

The beginning of bicycle trip

Hoon and I decided to travel around the world by bicycle
It took for one month to get ready for bicycle traveling.
First time, we didn't know that there are a lot of thing to prepare.
(Vaccination, bicycle equipments, Visa and so on)

Finally, we could to start our trip
on 2009.Dec.2

Riding bicycle with luggage was so hard
and the weather was too cold. (around -5°C)
I became exhausted soon.

After a few hours, we went out of Seoul
We took a commemorative photograph

I pedaled vigorously on my bicycle with being exhausted
( If you have a plan to have a bicycle trip. please do bicycle exercise in advance ;) )

Finally we arrived in Pyung-Tak city where my aunt lives in

first day we rode bicycle 80Km

It's been a long time since I last met my aunt.
When she saw our luggage on the bicycle, she was surprised.
Can you really ride bicycle with those luggage? she asked.
No problem aunt. we said.

Although we planed to leave her house early in the morning, we could leave in the afternoon
All right! we are lazy guys!
(Thank aunt for giving us a good lunch!!)

We were really enjoyed out trip
Even we were so tired, we often had picture times.
(there were no leaves on the tree it's winter!)

The rural landscape was picturesque.
We are city guys, so we can't see this landscape a lot.
It was getting dark, so we had to find some place where we can sleep.

We rode bicycles in national road in midnight.
We realized that it is very dangerous.
We could find a cement company soon, and we when there.
"Excuse... We are bike travelers, Can we set up tents in back yard?" we asked.
"Are you crazy? It's too cold to sleep outside. You can sleep in our staff accommodations" a supervisor said.
We had free dinner and we helped their task.
Happy ;)

Early in the morning, we said "Thank you so much " and we left there.
When we saw our bicycles, we were surprised.
Our bicycles were covered by frost.
Furthermore, it was foggy.
Anyway, we can do it!! cheer up!

There is a proverb, "A loaf of bread is better than the song of many birds".
Having a meal is so fantastic, after riding bicycle for long time.
(We likes Kim-chi a lot)

When we arrived at Daejeon city (6th largest city in Korea), two mascots welcomed us.

We often had between meals
It was simple food though, very delicious.

It was getting dark and cold
We couldn't ride bicycles anymore.
We decided to set up tents on empty lot.
It was first time setting up tents so it took quite long time.
sleeping in a tent was not so bad.
